Devlog - 0.0.8 - Orders & Info

Hey it’s Robert here writing this dev log.

We’ve given the employees a good bit of personality with a fair amount of randomized names:

Their upgrades still need to be implemented but we’ll get there.

We’ve implemented both order menus, which have minimal quests, but work, and we will add more as we go.

General Orders

King’s Order

We’re beginning to flesh out the gameplay we had planned when we originally thought of the game. Our original idea was a game where you incrementally farm, get employees to farm for you, and turn in orders that are given to you. Afterward completing the game design for the core loop, we began expanding on the idea, and thinking of different features to introduce different play styles, endings, and strategies. That’s where we came up with the ideas for other areas or items for you to purchase to produce new things like a kitchen, a cauldron, an anvil or a lake and a fishing pole. We also came up with the idea of randomized names for your employees, and more personal information about them. They’ll be able to be upgraded like would be expected, but they’ll also have their own masteries, and level. We also plan to imbue an overarching story within the game, themed to the Pomme de Terre series. We’re building out a world with these first two games we’ve published early builds of and are hard at work designing the story, it’s characters, and its mediums to experience it through.

I wanted to touch a bit on the macro of what’s going on here with this studio, and what are current projects are. The studio currently is made up of myself, and my fiancé, and 3 other people I’ll call part-time volunteers. We currently have 3 main projects that are being worked on, and are designing our other games in the background. The two Pomme de Terre games that are out, and Project: RoC (a discord bot) are those 3 main projects.
